Kilroy's Sponsors 911 Tribute Run

Kilroy's annually sponsors the G.R.A.C.E. July 4th 9/11 Tribute Run.

G.R.A.C.E. is The Glen Rock Assistance Council and Endowment. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was established by residents in town shortly after September 11, 2001 to provide assistance to family members of those who died in the terrorist attacks.

Through the efforts of G.R.A.C.E., a memorial was erected in Veterans' Park to honor the lives lost that tragic day. The Tribute Run/Walk began in 2003 as yet another way to remember our deceased loved ones. Net proceeds of the event benefit the G.R.A.C.E. fund and are used to maintain the memorial. Also, a yearly scholarship is awarded to a Glen Rock High School senior in memory of Glen Rock's eleven victims.

Kilroy's Featured On What Would You Do!

When Glen Rock resident Jay Reilly rushed into Kilroy's Wonder Market in early October to grab lunch before a conference call, he barely noticed the guy in the Kilroy's shirt with the bad haircut and thick glasses. He figured the guy was just a new manager on the daytime shift.

That all changed when the employee began berating a young man on line at the register who had dropped several oranges but would not pick them up. The young man said he wasn't trying to be difficult. He hurriedly explained his condition: mysophobia, a disorder that renders him excessively fearful of germs. Because the oranges had hit the floor and were contaminated with germs, he simply could not touch them.
